Miches sits on the north shore of the Dominican Republic's eastern tip, facing Samaná Bay instead of the Atlantic. Geography matters here for two reasons: the water is calmer than the open-ocean stretches down in Punta Cana, and the prevailing currents sweep sargassum seaweed away from the coast rather than onto it.
Development arrived late. Zemi (Hilton Curio) opened January 2024. Marriott Miches Beach followed in 2025. Viva, Club Med, and the Dreams + Secrets pair round out the cluster — all on or adjacent to Playa Esmeralda's 10-kilometer run of sand.
